Eagles acquire Kenny Pickett in a trade with the Steelers
Eagles Swoop in for Pickett in Shocking Trade with Steelers The Philadelphia Eagles pulled off a surprise move this morning, acquiring young quarterback Kenny Pickett from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for draft picks. Pickett, the 20th overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, started most of the games for the Steelers the past two seasons. However, Pittsburgh's acquisition of veteran quarterback Russell Wilson made Pickett expendable. The Eagles, always looking to solidify their depth at the quarterback position behind Jalen Hurts, saw an opportunity and pounced. They gave up a 2024 third-round pick (98th overall) and a pair of seventh-round picks in the 2025 draft to land Pickett and a 2024 fourth-round pick (120th overall) from the Steelers. This is a low-risk, potentially high-reward move for the Eagles. Pickett showed promise in his starts for Pittsburgh, completing 446 passes for 4,474 yards and 13 touchdowns in two seasons.
